Hi !
Yesterday was the worst day ever to be in Tongariro National Park. Clouds so high in the sky you can touch them when you stretch, a heavy rain shower every 2 minutes, and winds up to 80km/h, strong enough to make sure every pieces of clothe you were is wet, and that you won’t miss the chill ! How would I know that ? Well because I was the guy hiking the Tama lakes track that morning (17km).
So I head up to Lake Taupo (the biggest lake in NZ). The weather was just slightly better, but not to the point that you would need sunglasses. A thousand pictures been better than my word, here’s at least one that would translate the sadness of that Monday.

Hi !
On my way to the Tongariro National Park, I stopped to shot the Mt Ruapehu, which caught my attention the very moment it enter my field of view.
I tried it with my infrared filter (which I start to love more and more). The result would have had been more awesome without the clouds, but I still cannot control the elements and it’s not looking like I’m every going to be able to do so, given that my plans for the doing the Tongariro Alpine Crossing are now gone with the wind.

HI !
Here’s a little treat for you: the Mt Tongariro and Mt Ngauruhoe, two of the three iconic volcanos of the Tongariro National Park, the literally hottest place in NZ. It also happens to be one of the place used as the location of the Mordor (especially Mt Doom) in the Lord Of The Ring.

Hi !
Napier is certainly not know for it’s industrial harbour. Too bad though, ‘cause it must be pretty sweet to work there, given it’s location and amazing view.

Hi !
This photo concludes quite a sportive weekend: a 15km walk in the Belmont Regional Park on Saturday, some mountain bike in the Makara Park on Sunday. So to finish this weekend with style, I went to the Owhiro Bay, near the start of the Red Rocks Walkway, to shoot the sunset.
Enjoy (or not) and stay tuned.
Hi !
Second hike in the Belmont Regional Park today, and it was awesome ! Beautiful sunny weather (apparently unusual for a traditional July), even warm, so I got a chance to capture this view of the park.

Hi !
Beautiful scenery yesterday when the sunset started. I had to drop some colleagues at Wellington airport (WLG), and then looked at the Tasman see and the South Island mountains turning pink.
