Mont Holdsworth (New Zealand)

Hi !

For the unfit of us, when you climbed something like a 1470m high pick, you want to say out loud: we knocked the bastard off ! Of course I’m just stealing the words of Sir Edmund Percival Hillary, who did something quite more significant than us, when he was the first climber to get on top of the Mount Everest. But believe me, when you are on a consultant diet (pizza, burger, pizza, burger), Mount Holdsworth is not that insignificant.

Here’s a shot taken on the top.

Enjoy (or not) and stay tuned !

Point Haswell Lighthouse (New Zealand)

Hi !

Here’s a long exposure Point Haswell Lighthouse taken on the side of the Massey Road. Nothing really special, I agree.

Enjoy (or not) and stay tuned.

Downtown Auckland (New Zealand)

Hi !

I guess when you don’t really fall in love with a city, it’s kind of hard to get a nice shot from it. Or this is the way I’m going to forgive myself to come back from a full weekend in Auckland with only this photo.

That been said, it was still a good moment: a few photo exhibitions, great food, lovely girl walking the street (and sadly not paying me attention) and a nice hotel !

I also pay a visit to Devenport, on the other side of the bay… boring (but they told me it wasn’t the best of time).

Please don’t enjoy this one and write bad comment (especially if you are the biggest fan of Auckland).

Stay tuned.

Muritai Road (New Zealand)

Hi !

Wanting to explore more about the infrared photos, I got to process this one. I shot it last week, while walking along the Muritai Road, going to Pencarrow Old Lighthouse.

Enjoy (or not) and stay tuned !

Dramatic South Island (New Zealand)

Hi !

I know it probably means nothing to you, but I wanted to share with you my first black & white photography made from an infrared shot of the South Island (of New Zealand). There’s just a touch of split toning, to bring some atmosphere.

I hope you enjoy !

Pencarrow (New Zealand)

Hi !

What a hell of a bloody sunny weekend ! After a great long walk (23km) Saturday, I went for a short one (5km) on Sunday. This time I pretty much stayed in the same area (Pencarrow), where one may enjoy on a crystal clear day the stunning view on the South Island mountains (quite snowy at this moment of the year).

I hope you enjoy !

Stay tuned !

Dramatic Wellington Harbour (New Zealand)

Hi !

Long time no hear !! I know, I’ve been quite busy doing the boring business thing, but I got a chance to go hiking in the East Harbour Park, nearby Eastbourne, a lovely city on the other side of the Wellington bay.

This is the view you can enjoy from there…

Hope you like it 🙂

Stay tuned !

Rimutaka Rail Trail (New Zealand)

Hi !

So this sunday, enjoying a great sunny day, we (three colleagues and me) on a 20km hike following the Rimutaka Rail Trail. It’s a nice 20km walk, with no particular difficulty, and a bit of adventure, one been the 580m long and pitch dark Summit Tunnel.

It must have been quite an achievement to build a rail road in such a place. Every kilometer or so, a display would highlight a key fact. The rail road is now gone.

Stay tuned !

Kaitoke Regional Park (New Zealand)

Hi !

Here’s a long exposure I quickly shot in the Kaitoke Regional Park, one the nicest piece of bush in the Wellington Region.

The picture is not really terrific, it was raining, and it stopped for only 10 minutes, giving me the chance to only shot one photo. I’ll do better the next time.

The park however is terrific. The bush is very dense, it looks like a rain forest, but with cool temperatures. In this area there’s a very nice track. Later I’ll try the ridge track (about 9 km, 3 hours).

Stay tuned.
