The tag is misleading (France)

Hi !

Here’s a nice surprise among the portraits I shot during the New Year Eve party (the rest is kept private).

I just love the dark gaze, even if it might mean he would have had a greater time clubbing with yound fellow like him instead of bearing with old bones like us. But there’s always next year 🙂

Sheeps of France

Hi !

Here’s a shot I took while enjoying the warm weather of this Christmass. Usually we’re are graced with bellow 0°C tempatures, but somehow this year it is 15°C… We should probably blame the global warming thing, but on the other hand, it is quite comfortable.
So I leave you with these two unfortunate mamals who can’t take off their winter jacket.

Seaguls on the New Plymouth Coastal Walkway (New Zealand)

Hi !

One last picture I wanted to share. I took it two days ago, while enjoy a late lunch on the New Plymouth Coastal Walkway. My lunch started to have all their attention, but the moment I took my camera, almost all of them flew away, leaving these three courageous ones as company.

Champagne Pool in Wai-O-Tapu (New Zealand)

Hi !

Today, on the way to the Bay of Plenty (for what is going a waste of time and money, giving the bad weather forecasted), I stopped at Wai-O-Tapu, a park with thermal activity, in the most active volcanic area of the world (Mt Tongariro erupted a few weeks ago).

Here’s a photo of the amazing coulors and hell conditions these places usually offers.

Mont Taranaki (New Zealand)

Hi !

Here’s Mt Taranaki, one bastard we couldn’t knock off (because of the bad weather condition for the summit climb). Instead we had a great walk of 20km, passing by some sections of the Pouakai Circuit. It was muddy, cold, windy and even rainy, but when the clouds cleared away from the summit, the view was just breath taking.

Lake Taupo (New Zealand)

Hi !

Yesterday was the worst day ever to be in Tongariro National Park. Clouds so high in the sky you can touch them when you stretch, a heavy rain shower every 2 minutes, and winds up to 80km/h, strong enough to make sure every pieces of clothe you were is wet, and that you won’t miss the chill ! How would I know that ? Well because I was the guy hiking the Tama lakes track that morning (17km).

So I head up to Lake Taupo (the biggest lake in NZ). The weather was just slightly better, but not to the point that you would need sunglasses. A thousand pictures been better than my word, here’s at least one that would translate the sadness of that Monday.

Mont Ruapehu (New Zealand)

Hi !

On my way to the Tongariro National Park, I stopped to shot the Mt Ruapehu, which caught my attention the very moment it enter my field of view.

I tried it with my infrared filter (which I start to love more and more). The result would have had been more awesome without the clouds, but I still cannot control the elements and it’s not looking like I’m every going to be able to do so, given that my plans for the doing the Tongariro Alpine Crossing are now gone with the wind.
